Report on the Parents meeting of RCPTA scholarship recipients in the hostel
Mrs. Paranamana delivering the welcome address said that this project was initiated according to a suggestion by Mr. Ranjith Senanayake in 2012. Initially 4 students from financially backward grade six scholars in the hostel were offered scholarships by the RCPTA. Now the total number of scholarships offered stands at 14. Scholarship donors are mainly RCPTA members, in addition special mention should be made of the Netherland – Sri Lanka friendship society for donation Rs. 100,000 for the scholarship fund.
Mr. Ranjith Senanayake thanked Mrs. Paranamana for the great effort put in by her to make this project a great success. Three former wardens of the hostel all of whom are members of the RCPTA namely Capt. Dharmaratne, Mr. Ranjith Senanayake & Mr. K.H.Amaradasa speaking on the occasion said they were happy to be associated in this project. This is a meritorious project the RCPTA has undertaken. The student who secured the first place in the Island at the 2016 grade six scholarship examination was also offered a scholarship by the RCPTA. The present hostel warden Mr. Chulasinghe speaking on the occasion said that this year due to increase in prices of commodities the parents themselves suggested that hostel fees should be increased to Rs. 5000/=He said he would gladly welcome an appreciate any advice from the former three wardens who are now members of the RCPTA.
